The J-10 is a formidable multi-role fighter boasting exceptional agility and maneuverability, characteristics which have been faithfully reproduced in this scale model. As part of the effort in achieving this, the J-10 was designed to run a 105mm EDF supplied by a 120A custom HobbyWing ESC specific to the J-10. The EDF unit and housing are constructed using a nylon composite material due to the material’s optimal strength to weight ratio, and the custom HobbyWing ESC is wired to provide a direct line of power to the PCBs controlling sub systems such as the retracts, navigation lights, and gear doors instead of through the receiver as is done predominantly. The J-10’s control surfaces are all powered by 12g metal gear digital servos, with the exception of the canards which contribute heavily to the J-10’s maneuverability, they are instead powered by a larger 40g metal gear digital servo.
In our trials the J-10 pushed pass the 100mph mark fully stock with a 6 cell 5000mah, achieving a max clocked speed of 105mph. We believe however, that there’s more speed yet to be squeezed out from the J-10 if we went up to an 8 cell battery and did some more fine tuning. She handles extremely well, though with a voracious appetite, the 5000mah battery lasted us no more than 2 ½ - 3 minutes of flight time, but it was intense while it lasted, the speed and agility of this jet was simply amazing.
The plane uses HXT-150 plugs to connect to the battery, and contains one set of adapters per unit, if you elect to purchase a second battery please note you will need another adapter to convert that to the HXT-150 connecter. When you purchase the battery for this J-10 from BananaHobby as a completion option, we will be supplying high quality Genesis Power branded Li-Po batteries as the default battery for this plane, which comes with all the warranties and reliability of our Genesis Power brand.
Flying Skill Level:Advanced and experienced pilots recommended.
Maintenance Level:After every 5 flights and before and after storing airplane, please check all control surface horns and tighten the screws on surface horns if needed. Check the control pushrod clevis to insure no cracks are visible and no clevis has come loose. Check all control surfaces for solid contact between control surfaces, main wings and tail sections. Check for any loose screws anywhere screws are located. Check all wires connecting to the receiver for soild connection.
