While we admire the turbine version's beautiful scale airframe and performance, we didn't want to compromise the EDF version's aesthetics by introducing cheater holes and vents for performance. After extensive testing and validation, we are finally introducing the highly anticipated EDF version of the AF Model "Project 195" F-22 Raptor! Our team at Banana Hobby, in collaboration with AF Model and JP Hobby, has achieved another milestone. We are excited to unveil a breakthrough in EDF performance that maintains the aesthetic integrity of the original, stunning airframe. This new thru-and-thru EDF duct system is designed where the airflow is managed and directed efficiently through the entire duct, from the intake to the exhaust, without interruptions or obstructions. This system enhances the performance of the EDF by minimizing airflow resistance and maximizing thrust. Unlike traditional designs that might include additional vents or cheater holes to improve airflow, a thru-and-thru duct system achieves high efficiency without compromising the aesthetic appearance of the model. This results in a more realistic and visually appealing representation of the aircraft while maintaining or improving its aerodynamic performance.
This AF Model F-22 Raptor 105mm EDF Jet is designed to the exact same specifications as its turbine version, using high-density, rigid turbine-grade EPO foam and electronics but featuring a different drive system. Its signature super-efficient thru-and-thru duct system is specifically tailored to elevate and maximize the performance of the JP Hobby 105mm EDF power system. Like the turbine version, the EDF version features an operational range of 8 to 13 channels, depending on your chosen configuration, and includes a robust, heavy-duty, high-scale retract and e-brake system from JP Hobby, a renowned industry leader in top-quality EDF and turbine jet CNC components. Preinstalled with GDW's high-voltage servos and reliable CNC metal servo arms, this jet showcases exceptional scale details and minimal wing loading, making it an ideal choice for both scale training and extreme maneuvers, just like its full-size counterpart.
The AF Model F-22 is not just a visually stunning replica; it's a high-performance RC jet with the lowest stall speed and one of the highest top speeds among foam jets. Whether you're an expert pilot seeking to perform extreme maneuvers or a trainer pilot looking for stable, high-alpha flight, this jet is designed to cater to both. It effortlessly handles maneuvers like Cobra and inverted Immelmans, yet can be comfortably cruised at lower throttle settings, making it perfect for those transitioning from smaller jet sizes.
