You will use the balance charger connecter (charge lead) on the battery to do the voltage test.
Each pair of wires indicates the voltage for each individual cell, i.e.:
-Red wire and the black wire right next to it will give voltage reading for cell three.
-Middle two black wires give off voltage reading for cell two.
-Last two black wires gives off voltage reading for cell one.
(Yes, the overlapping is normal.).
Note: If you should get a negative number, for example -11.61V, it means your red and black probes are reversed (in each other's spot), if you exchange places you will get the same number without the negative, which is the voltage value.
